Fig Olive Tapenade a la Gabrielle

My mom loved appetizers & desserts. I think she loved the variety of appetizers- getting to try lots of tasty little bites without getting too full on just one thing. She would host legendary Christmas parties and other parties- filled with tables full of carefully made delicious appetizers and desserts. One of her all-time favorite appetizers is this fig olive tapenade, which may sound strange if you haven't combined olives with sweet dried fruits before, but together, the tapenade is perfectly balanced salty/sweet/sour. Best to serve over crostini with a thick smear of goat cheese. As my mom liked to say- yummo!
